Marlene Louise Carson

Marlene Carson, 90, recently of Belleview, Florida passed into the presence of her Lord on Saturday September 9th, 2023, after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease.

She was born Marlene Louise Bock on June 21st, 1933, in Philipsburg, PA, the second of 4 children of Wilbur Clark Bock and Charlotte Bock (Neidrick) She was Valedictorian of her graduating class with a gifted soprano voice, participating in Glee Club and as a Church soloist for most of her life. After high school, she briefly attended Nursing School but came home after her father’s sudden death.

She married Milford E (Bud) Carson on July 26th, 1952. Together they had 4 children while living in Osceola Mills PA. In 1963 they moved the family to West Palm Beach, Florida.

Marlene, always a faithful homemaker who loved sewing, quilting and baking, also supported her family by working in retail, becoming store Manager. After the children were grown, forever devoted to her husband, she joined Bud as a long-haul Semi Truck driver and together continued for over 20 years until her retirement in 2003, at age 70.

Marlene and Bud resided in Lake Wales, FL, until his passing when she moved to Winter Haven. She then served her Church family, Lake Wales Christian & Missionary Alliance, faithfully as the head Deaconess and Bookkeeper until a slip and fall required assisted living. She moved to Belleview, FL in 2018 and was under her daughter Beth’s care until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her elder brother Wilbur Bock, and her husband of 54 years, Bud. She is survived by her sister Marie Minarcik of West Decatur PA, her brother Darrell Bock (Linda) of West Decatur, PA, and her children, Milford “Jack” Carson (Pamela) of Tampa, FL, Alan S Carson (Patty) of Tyler, TX. Beth Dominguez (Alfonso) of Belleview, FL. Mark B Carson (Margaret) of San Antonio, TX.

She had nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are through Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, FL and will be held at: 454 South Buck Moore Rd, Lake Wales, FL  33853

On Saturday, September 30th, 2023, the Family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
