Markela Lynn Gonzalez, 51 of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her residence.

She was born February 4, 1967 in St. Joseph, Tennessee to the late Glenn and Eda Nelson Tidwell and she has been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Smith and Pamela McKenzie Branch.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years Silvino Gonzalez; daughter, Ashley Reyes of Lake Wales; sons, Jonathan Reyes (Brianna) of Lake Wales, Robert Reyes of Lake Wales; sister, Sue Perdue of Lake Wales; brothers, Tim McKenzie of Lake Wales, Markus Anthony Tidwell of Flat rock, Alabama, Glenn Gentry Tidwell of Alabama, Ivan Wiley Tidwell of Alabama; granddaughter, Destanie.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 5:00 pm until service time at 6:00 pm at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
