Marjorie Lee Wingate, 75

Marjorie Lee Wingate of Lake Wales, Florida passed away at her residence on January 17, 2022.

She was born January 5, 1947, in Frostproof, Florida to the late Emory and Mamie Long. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Wales, Florida. She retired from the Polk County School Board as a bus driver of 26 years. Marjorie was dedicated to God, family, and friends. She cherished her time with her family on the holidays, and for social gatherings. She enjoyed SHOPPING, cooking, fishing, and munching on seafood. She was also a member of the Golfview Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel T. Wingate; her sisters Arrie Mae Edwards, Wanda Ellis, and Betty Lambeth; her niece Darlene Lee; great-grandson Beau Wingate; and stepdaughter Deborah Dill.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy Purvis and husband Donald of Lake Wales; her son Samuel Wingate Jr. and wife Shane of Lake Wales; 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Josh, Megan, Sarah, Daniel, John, and Josh B; and 7 great-grandchildren, James, Mahala, Cooper, Jasper, Marci, Harli, and Colton.

Visitations will be held on Friday January 21, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the Golfview Church of God, followed by interment at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
