Marjorie W. Burnett

Marjorie W. Burnett of Lake Wales passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 16, 1919 in Faber, VA to the late Charlie F. & Willie B. (Mayo) Wharam; she came here from Fort Myers in 1974. She was the retired owner of an auto body supply shop and a member of the West Side Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lake Wales Elks Lodge, BPOE #1974 and Women of the Moose Chapter #1974.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Burnett. Survivors include his step-daughters, Carolyn Rooks of Brandon, Beverly Benton of Douglasville, GA, Margaret Dodd of Sunrise and Norma Jean Alexander of Calera, AL; step-sons, B.E. Pridgeon of Westminster, CA and Jim Phillips (Kay) of Lake Wales; brother, Charles Wharam of Cumberland, VA; and nieces, June Lawrence of PA, Gail George of VA and Ann Jackson of VA.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Sanderson, FL.
