Marion Eleanor Nunez Bradley passed away December 15, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, while residing at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park, Florida.
Eleanor was born December 06, 1931 in Englewood, New Jersey. Her family moved to Tampa, Florida, when she was an infant. She grew up in Nichols/Mulberry, Florida and graduated from Mulberry High School in 1949. She graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 1956 and was a member of Alpha Z Delta Sorority. While attending school at Florid State University, she met her husband of 57 years, Preston Bradley. Eleanor was a military wife and lived in many areas of the United States, as well as overseas. Eleanor taught school for 31 years in Nebraska, New York, Virginia and North Lakeland Elementary, Lakeland, Florida.
She retired from teaching in 1995. Eleanor was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, Florida, a member of the Bykota Sunday School Class and volunteered in the Auxiliary of Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was a “Diehard” Seminole Fan and enjoyed going to all the Florida State football games for over 30 years.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marion Nunez and her husband, Preston Bradley.
She is survived by her four children Ann Smith (Sim) of Madison, Florida, Brad (Patty) of Bellevue, Nebraska, Dale of Crestview, Florida and John of Gainesville, Florida. She was B-Ma to her four grandchildren, Buddy Smith (Sarah) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Justin Smith (Amanda) of Tallahassee, Florida, Heather Bradley (Larry) Omaha, Nebraska and Robyn Bradley, Bellevue, Nebraska. Her sister Martha Van Arsdall (Van) of Lakeland, Florida. Her brother in Law Bernard Bradley (Judy) Bushnell, Florida, her sister in law Sally Bradley of Plant City, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, December 21, 2012 in the chapel at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Florida.
