Marilyn S.  Wilkinson, 94

Marilyn S. Wilkinson of Lake Wales passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at Oakbridge in Lakeland.

She was born December 21, 1928, in Saugerties, NY to the late Merritt A. and Bessie W. Sutton; she came here from Catskill, NY in 1949. She retired from GTE after 34 years, working as a telephone operator and office clerk. She was a member, and served as a secretary, for the Elks Lodge #1974 in Lake Wales, and a member of the Women of the Moose Lake Wales Chapter #1974, International Telephone Pioneers, ON-T-ORA Chapter DAR in Catskill, NY, Winter Haven American Legion Post #8 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lake Wales Country Club. She was also a past president of Lake Wales Lion’s Club and BPW.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Wilkinson in 1992. And her son, Richard Wilkinson. Survivors include her sons, Roy L. Wilkinson Jr (Brenda) of Plant City and Randy Wilkinson (Brandy) of Lake Wales; sister, Shirley Hilker of Winter Haven; 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Highlands Church of God, 2045 East County Road 540A, Lakeland, FL 33813 with Rev. Roy Wilkinson III and Rev. Steve Livingston officiating.
