LAKE WALES--Marie Collier, 86, of Lake Wales passed away October 15, 2007 due to heart failure at The Groves Center in Lake Wales.

Born May 19, 1921 in Opp, AL; she came to Lake Wales from Alabama in 1941. She was a homemaker and was a member of the West Side Baptist Church since 1950 and was very active with the church.

Marie was preceded by her parents, Walter G. & Daisie (Sims) Chambless; brother, Lelan Chambless; sisters, Audie Lawrence and Marjorie Thompson. Survivors include her husband, Thomas C. Collier of Lake Wales; sons, Thomas F. Collier of Lake Wales; Robert Mark Collier of Lake Wales; brothers, Eldrich Chambless of Opp, AL; James Jackson of Clearwater; sisters, Helen Hall of Clearwater; Jean Phillips of Clearwater; four grandchildren, Matthew Collier, Taphney Houk, Amy Mincey & Robert Collier, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Mahlon Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
