Maria De Los Angeles Jones

Maria Jones, 59, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at her residence. She was born on October 19, 1956 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to the late Andres and Josefina Flores and she has been a resident of this area since 2014 moving here from Reading, Pennsylvania. She was a School Teacher for Antilles Elementary School in San Juan Puerto Rico. Maria was the president of the Ombudsman for the Coast Guard Cutter Morgenthau, she traveled a lot with her husband who was in the U.S. Coast Guard. Survivors include her husband Excell Jones; daughter, Melia Angelic Jones of Alexandria, VA., son, Andre Excell Jones III of Norfolk, VA; sister, Migdalia Nieves (Manuel) of Lake Wales; brothers, Andres Llanos of Puerto Rico, Jimmy Llanos of Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 9, 2016 and Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
