Maria Anaya, 95

Maria Anaya of Lake Wales passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales under the care of Vitas Hospice.

She was born March 10, 1927 in Coroneo Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Cipriano and Cresencia Garcia; she moved to Lake Wales from Mexico 35 years ago to work as a laborer in agriculture. Maria was a homemaker. She loved to crochet and was featured in the Polk County Magazine for her crocheting. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her daughter Connie who she spent her life with.

Maria was proceeded in death by her husband Lucio Anaya after 54 years of marriage; and daughter, Alajandra Anaya. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Anaya of Winter Haven, Oralia Anaya of Lake Wales, Adela Anaya of Mexico, Carmen Anaya of Mexico, Eva Anaya of Mexico, and Alicia Anaya of Frostproof; son, Lucio Anaya of Frostproof; several grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; and several great greatgrandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales.
