School Bus Driver

Margie Evelyn Glass, 83, of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born November 15, 1924 in Live Oak, FL; she came here over 50 years ago from Suwannee County. She was a retired school bus driver for the Polk County School Board and a member of the South Lake Wales Church of God, where she was the nursery attendant for many years and was given the nickname "Cookie Lady" by the kids. She also enjoyed being a girl scout leader, reading, family times and being a "Block House Parent".

Margie was preceded by her husband, Albert Glass in 1973. Survivors include her daughters, Lou Ann McCoy and Penny "Lisa" Rock both of Lake Wales, and 4 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until service time at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2008 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Lake Wales Church of God, Youth Ministry Opportunities, 210 President’s Drive, Lake Wales, Florida 33859.
