Margery Manley Simmons, 91 of Frostproof passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring.
She was born March 31, 1926 in Frostproof to the late Kyle and Mary Manley; she has been a lifelong resident of Frostproof. She was a retired teacher with the Polk County School Board and a cosmetologist. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school for over 40 years, liked to make group trips with her church and school. She was very active with her family’s lives as a mother and grandmother. Margery was a giving person to many. Family events were special, joyous occasions, especially Thanksgiving at her Lake Clinch home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Simmons; and her sister, Shirley Day. Survivors include her sons, Darrell Branning of Tallahassee, Doyce Branning of Lakeland and Dolan Branning of Frostproof; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Frostproof with Pastor Brian Smith officiating.
