Margaret Peggy Welborn, 84, of Lake Wales, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 8 th , 2018, @ the Wedgewood Assisted Living/ Nursing Home in Winter Haven FL. She was born Jan. 24,1934, in Birmingham MI, to the late Roscoe and Toni Hallock. After graduating high school, she attended and is an alumni of Webber College. She was an Administrative Assistant until changing to the field of medical records transcriber with the Lake Wales Hospital and Lake Wales Walk In Clinic. She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church of Lake Wales where she loved volunteering in their Thrift Shop and being an Altar Guild member. She loved to knit ( calling herself a knit-aholic ) knitting prayer shawls and other items that could be given to those in need. She loved antiques, art shows, France and the French culture. Any beach was her happy place!
Peggy’s preceded in death by her husband Clayton Poncho Welborn and her brother James Ross Hallock. She is survived by her son Ros & daughter in-law Allison Welborn of Quincy, FL, also daughter Libby and son-in-law Jim Harvey, Taylorsville, UT. She has 5 grandchildren, Erin Westwood, Lauren Ali Lindley, Zach Harvey, Hunter and Hannah Welborn as well as 7 great – grandchildren, Bree, Levi, Nolan Lindley, Soeyer and Avril Westwood, Kinleigh and Kai Harvey.
A memorial service will be held Fri. May 4 th at The Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Lake Wales. Visitation is from 10 – 11am, with the memorial following at 11am. Donations in lieu of flowers to The Church of the Good Shepard Episcopal Church.
