Margaret Mary Jones, 86

Margaret Mary Jones of Lakeland passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Hospital.

She was born February 20, 1937 in London, England to the late Charles and Mary Rex. To get out of London as a child, Margaret was shipped to a foster family in Bishop’s Stortford in England in the Country to get her away from the city and bombing during World War II. She moved to Lake Wales in 1956 where she was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and ran the church’s thrift store while also cleaning the church. After moving to Lakeland, she became a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She was a housekeeper and great historian.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Marvin Jones in 1999; and son, Charles Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Annette Radlein of Lakeland; sister, Eileen Lyons of London, England; brothers, John Rex (Irene) of England, Tony Rex (Christine) of London, England; granddaughter, Jillian Zambrana (Matthew) of Zephyrhills.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. There will be a reception immediately following the conclusion of the service at the New Harvest Worship Center located at 45 Dr. MLK Jr Blvd, Lake Wales, FL 33853.
