Margaret Hightower

Margaret Jane Hightower 84, of Waverly passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born May 3, 1928 in Auburndale, Florida to the late Florence Smith and has been a resident of Waverly since 1944 moving here from Tampa. Margaret worked for Waverly Growers over 40 years and retired 20 years ago as a fruit grader and packer. She was a dedicated loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family, crocheting, working in her yard and collecting cookie jars. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Jack” Hightower in 2005

Survivors include her daughter, Ruby Jean Hightower of Casselberry, FL; son, Jimmie C. & wife Janice Hightower of Lake of The Hills, FL; 2 Grandchildren, Tracy Klein and J. Carlton Hightower II; 1 great granddaughter, Nicole Klein

Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until service time.
Interment will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
