Maggie Whitlock

Mary "Maggie" Whitlock, 109, of Lake Wales passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Grace Health Care.

She was born December 9, 1904 in Dothan, AL to the late John & Anna Margaret Richardson; and she has been a resident Lake Wales since 1930. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved cooking, sewing and gardening.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Whitlock, Sr.; daughters, Kathaleen Bennett, Annie Laurie Cullifer and Bonnie Yarborough; and sons, Samuel Curtis Whitlock and Albert W. Whitlock, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Myrna Bennett of Lake Wales and Patricia Carothers and husband, Garland of Lake Wales; sons, Henry C. Whitlock of Brandon, John W. Whitlock of Lake Wales and Norman C. Whitlock and wife, Carol of Lake Wales; 44 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren and several great-great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday, April 14, 2014 and the funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Buddy Collins officiating.
