Lucille Sherrer

Lucille Sherrer of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her residence.

She was born October 09, 1918 in Coffee County, Alabama; she came to Lake Wales in 1950 from Coffee County. She was a sectionizer for Citrus World for 32 years and attended the Westside Baptist Church. She loved quilting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Velma Mates, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Raymond E. Sherrer of Lake Wales; daughters, Vera Sherrer of Lake Wales, Florida and Earline McDonald (Mike) of Babson Park, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Goodwin (Gary) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Nancy Barber (Greg) of Tampa, Florida, Corol Wolff of Tampa, Florida, Martha McDonald of Lake Wales, Florida and Cathy McDonald of Babson Park, Florida; and 5 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Olivia Barber, Julia and Jared Wolff all of Tampa, Florida; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, August 17, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. J.R. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
