Louise Spanke Kihm, 90, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015. Louise was born in Hartman, Arkansas and grew up in Clarksville, Arkansas. She attended St. Scholastica Academy in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and in 1942, moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and worked at the Maumelle Defense Plant. In 1945, she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked for Universal Oil Products. On October 18, 1947 she married Paul W. Kihm who was a food broker. They raised their family in Evanston, Illinois and moved to Glenview, Illinois in 1995. Paul died in August, 1997, and Louise moved to Lake Wales, Florida in 1998.
Louise is survived by five children, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 644 South 9th Street, Lake Wales, Florida 33853, with Father Glenn Charest officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, she asked with gratitude, that donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or the Holy Spirit Council of Catholic Women.
She wished it to be said, "She loved her family and friends."
