BABSON PARK--Lottie Smith Wilkinson, 92, of Babson Park passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at The Groves Center in Lake Wales.

Born October 8, 1915 in Person Co, NC, the daughter of Thomas Fletcher Blackard and Nannie Elizabeth Wilson. She came to Lake Wales from Mebane, NC in 1959. She was a retired customer service rep for Atlantic Bank, now Wachovia Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Wales and a former member of the First United Methodist Churches in Lake Wales and Mebane, NC. She was active in her church and had a ministry of encouragement to others. She was also past president of the Business & Professional Women’s Club in Lake Wales, was an avid bowler and card player. She also crocheted over 100 shawls for Hospice in North Carolina and Good Shepherd Hospice in Polk County.

Lottie was predeceased by her husband, Melford Wilkinson and former husband, Roy C. Smith Sr., sisters Earle Blackard Wilkinson and Christine Blackard Pace. Survivors include her children, Libby S. Atkins of Mebane, NC; Gayle Reeder of Babson Park; Faye Anderson of Lake Wales; Rev. Clifton S mith of Sunny Hills; step-son, Kenneth C. Wilkinson of Mebane, NC; sister, Hilda B. Allen of Mebane, NC; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 01, 2007 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell; 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
