Lonnie Carlton McKenzie Jr., 80, of Frostproof passed away June 6, 2008 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born August 8, 1927 in Swainsboro, GA; he was a lifelong resident of Frostproof. He was a retired employee for Polk County.

Lonnie was preceded by his wife, Carolyn McKenzie in 1998. Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Gilmore of Frostproof and Suzette Sheffield of Chicora; sons, Larry McKenzie of Jacksonville, Carl McKenzie of Frostproof, Buster McKenzie of Avon Park and Dustin McKenzie of Frostproof; sister, Eveline Howze of Thomasville, GA; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends from 1:00 until service time at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
