FROSTPROOF--Lonie Dixon of Frostproof, died of heart failure Monday (Oct. 09, 2006) at the Lake Wales Medical Center in Lake Wales, Florida. He was 91.

Born December 01, 1914 in Crosland, GA; she moved here from Bradley Junction 41 years ago. She was retired from the citrus industry. She was a member of the Frostproof Church of God and made prayer cloths.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Dixon, sister, Mamie Williams and brother, Floyd Tucker. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Simmons of Auburndale and Ann Lord of Frostproof; sons, Jimmy Dixon of Auburndale and Charles Meadows of Sparks, GA; sister, Ruby Beasley of Frostproof; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Frostproof Church of God in Frostproof with Rev. Rex Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
