Ms. Lola Vee Bates of Bell died of heart failure Friday (Nov. 25, 2005) at Bartow Center. She was 86.

Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Lake Wales, Ms. Bates was a lifelong resident of this area. She worked as a homemaker and waitress. She was a Protestant.

Ms. Bates is survived by her nephew, Larry Pitts, Bell, and brother, J.C. King, Lake Wales.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
