Lois Anne chase, 87

Lois Anne Chase of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born September 8, 1935 in Ossining, NY to the late Fred and Grace Houghtaling; and graduated from Auburn Central High School. She was a retired manager at Key Bank in Syracuse, NY and later worked as a substitute teacher’s aide in Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District. She came to the area from Fayetteville, NY seven years ago and was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. She loved playing cards, reading, traveling, exercising, baking cookies and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Donald K. Chase; a son, Douglas J. Hoffman; and two sisters, Eleanor Salzer and Jean Schwartzwalder. Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Cannon (David) of Lake Wales; son, Gary Hoffman (Joanne) of Milton, GA; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews .

Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven with Rev. Owen Carriker officiating.
