LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Lois W. "Rene" Beasley of Lake Wales died of heart failure Wednesday (Sept. 13, 2006) at Winter Haven Hospital. She was 83.

Born in Dothan, Ala., on July 26, 1923, she came to Lake Wales from Lakeland 50 years ago. She was a grader for Florida Natural and Citrus World. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil S. Beasley. She is survived by her daughter, Janan Parrish, Lake Wales; stepdaughter, Sheila Leslin, Belvidere, Ill.; son, Lamar Pickles, Lake Wales; stepson, Lamar Beasley, Winter Haven; brother, Herbert C. Conner, Lake Wales; sister, Mary Conner, Lake Wales; 11 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
