Lettie Mae Lee, born on September 6, 1931, in Trilby, Florida, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale.
She lived a vibrant life filled with love and service, notably as a bus driver for Polk County Schools, where she positively impacted many children. Lettie was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales. She previously shared her musical talent as a pianist at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade, where her love for music enriched the worship experience for many. Her strong faith was a guiding light in her life.
Beyond her dedication to her career and church, Lettie had a variety of hobbies that included crocheting, crafting, and sewing. She cherished making clothes for her children and took great joy in tracing her genealogy, piecing together her family’s history. Lettie also loved to travel and enjoyed camping in an RV with her husband, creating treasured memories during their adventure. She served in the Eastern Star and the Amaranth.
She is survived by her son, Malcom McLean Lee, Jr. of O'Brien, Florida; her daughters, Patricia JoAnn Finn of Pensacola and Sara Elizabeth Webb and her husband Paul of Lake Wales; and her sister, Dorothy Ann Tucker of Bartow. Lettie is also survived by her two sisters, Ladye Cox and her husband Jim of Dunnellon, and Omie Irene Newsome of Alachua, along with ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.
Lettie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm McLean Lee, Sr.; her son, Kenneth Marvin Lee; and her brothers, SE McDaniel, Robert McDaniel, and Edward McDaniel.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Lake Wales with a reception to follow.
