LESLIE TATTERSALL HARRISON, 97
Leslie T. Harrison of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at Advent Healthcare.
He was born April 18, 1922 in Bradford Yorkshire, England to the late Joseph and Mary Anne (Tattersall) Harrison. He was a winter resident in Hidden Cove West for 10 years before moving permanently to Swiss Village in 2000. He was a Milkman for Bowman and Hedlin Dairies. He was a veteran in United States Army serving in WWII 37th Infantry Division in the Pacific and Asia. He received the Bronze Star. He actively participated on Swiss Village Board. He was the Sound Technician for all community events. He was a member of the American Legion and was instrumental in getting the Fire Station in Lucerne Park in Winter Haven built. He sang in the Chorus and played the string bass in a band at the Swiss Village. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Haines City where he served in the Drama Club.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Barbara Harrison, sons Dale Walter of Destin, FL, Pat Harrison and wife Susan of Raleigh, NC, Larry Harrison of Des Plaines, IL, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
