LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Leona B. Kridler of Lake Wales died of heart failure Tuesday (July 4, 2006) at Haines City Health Care. She was 88.

Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on July 28, 1917, she came to Lake Wales from Grandville, Mich., in 1978. She was a retired sales clerk for Herpolsheimers Department Store. She was a volunteer at Lake Wales Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist Temple of Dundee.

Mrs. Kridler was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Kridler. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Cook, Landrum, S.C., Jeanne Alberda, Hudsonville, Mich.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.
