Leon W. Groover

Leon W. Groover of Frostproof passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1936 in Frostproof to the late Mack & Mary Groover; he was a lifelong resident of Frostproof. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was an active member of the Frostproof Church of God, holding several positions. He was also a member of D.A.V. and enjoyed fishing.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Billy Groover. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Groover; sons, Wayne A. Groover and wife, Joanne of Virginia Beach, VA and Leslie L. Groover and companion, Marcie of Jacksonville; sister, Marjorie Garrard of Frostproof; brother, Lonnie Groover of Mooresville, NC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Frostproof Church of God with Pastor Rodney Cannon officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
