Leo Anthony Wise, III

Leo Anthony Wise, III, passed away on September 27, 2026, at his residence. He was 79. He was born on March 24, 1947, in Brownsville, Texas.

Leo graduated with the class of 1967 from Mount Carmel High School in Houston, Texas, and later attended the University of Houston. While attending the university, he joined the Texas National Guard. He went on to work as a computer operator for Shell Oil for 30 years, giving many years of steady and dedicated service.

Throughout his life, Leo was active in the organizations and interests that meant so much to him. He was a member of the Desoto Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas. He also served as past commander of the Apollo Beach Power Squadron. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life.

Leo will be deeply missed by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Michelle “Mickey” Wise; sons, Michael Wise and his wife Julie of Reno, Nevada, and Jason Wise and his wife Jessica of Sacramento, California; grandchildren, Charlie Wise and Anthony Wise; sisters, Mary Anderson and her husband Jay of San Diego, California and Alicia Burgan and her husband Steve of Portland, Oregon; brothers, Robert Wise and his wife Christina of Portland, Oregon and Rene Wise and his wife Jackie of Fairfield, California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lilia Wise; as well as his sister, Eileen Janes and her husband Florian.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
