Leo Denis “Denny” Scheid, 67, of Cedar Springs, MI passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center in Lake Wales, FL.

Born December 9, 1940 in Belding, MI; he has been a winter resident of Lake Wales, FL for the past 7 years coming from Cedar Springs, MI. He was a retired truck driver for Dykema Excavations after 37 years of service and was of the Catholic faith. He was a volunteer fireman in Grattan, MI and enjoyed competing snowmobile and midget car races and tractor pulls. He was also an avid toy collector.

Denny was preceded by his daughter, Denise Whittaker. Survivors include his wife of almost 39 years, Carolyn Scheid of Cedar Springs, MI; daughters, Dianna Sisco of Grand Rapids, MI; SuAnne Huegal of Rockford, MI; Leesa Warner of Goshen, NY; Wendy Nelson of Lake Wales, FL; brother, Joseph Eugene Scheid of Grand Rapids, MI; and 9 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at the Lake Wales Campground Recreation Hall. Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales, FL is handling arrangements.
