Lenora Jeanette Lanton

Lenora Jeanette Lanton "Meme" of Frostproof passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at her residence.

She was born October 16, 1922 in La Belle, FL to the late Radford E. & Eula (Messer) Edwards; she came here from Moore Haven, FL in 1927. She was retired from Ben Hill Griffin and a member of the First Baptist Church in Frostproof.

Meme was preceded in death by her husband, Brainard C. Lanton; parents, 2 daughters, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Debora Odom (Danny) of Frostproof, Connie Schmidt (Rick) of Grant, FL, Barbara Fletcher (Don) of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie Stone (Dennis) of New Hampshire, Linda Arrigo (Carmen) of North Carolina and Sharon Winegard of Lakeland, FL; sons, Milton Giddens (Sharon) of Tennessee, Jimmy Lanton (Kathy) of Illinois and Dean Lanton of Alabama; 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof with Rev. Dean Lanton officiating.
