Lela Virginia Vest

Lela Virginia Vest of New Port Richey passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice Care Center.

She was born September 13, 1926 in Zionsville, IN to the late Millard & Clara (Bartlett) Montgomery; coming to Frostproof in 1982 from Noblesville, IN. She was a retired secretary, attended the Church of Christ in Frostproof, a member of the Art League of Frostproof, loved to bake cakes for weddings, and liked to sew.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband Rosco in 2001, and son, Ray Johnson. Survivors include daughter, Linda Johnson of Noblesville, IN; step-daughters, Barbara Sue Parker of Frostproof, Mary Lou Christner of Erlanger, KY, and Edna Hawkins of Kokomo, IN; brother, Howard Montgomery & sister-in-law, Reba Montgomery of New Port Richey, FL; half-brother, Larry Montgomery of Noblesville, IN; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 4:30 PM, Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof.
