Laveta Sue Huckaby

LaVeta Sue Huckaby, 80, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born on November 14, 1935 Cherokee, Oklahoma to the late Zene L. and Gladys (Decker) McMurtrey and she has been a resident of this area for 16 years moving here from Colorado Springs, Colorado. LaVeta was a retired School Teacher for the Public School System. She was a true Proverbs 31 lady and attended Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Tabor (Gary) of Pampa, Texas; son, Scott Huckaby (Anita) of Lake Wales; 5 grandchildren, Alisha Ruble of Babson Park, Joshua Taber of Hawaii, David Huckaby of Lake Wales, Jessica Long of Arkansas, James Tabor of Pampa, Texas; and 3 great grandchildren, Jeremiah and Ava Ruble of Babson Park and Katriel Tabor of Hawaii.
