LaVerne Anderson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on December 28, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas.

LaVerne was the daughter of Wilburn Bell and Pauline Randolph, both of whom preceded her in death. Her life was richly intertwined with deep family bonds and friendships that spanned the decades. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Edward M. Anderson, whose steadfast partnership was a central pillar of her life. Her legacy continues through her daughters, Kristin Grubb and Shannon Rickabaugh, as well as her sons-in-law, Brad Grubb and Brett Rickabaugh. LaVerne’s pride and joy were her grandchildren—Elijah-David, Alex, Cassie, and Xavier—who brought great happiness to her life.

She is also survived by her sisters, June Parr and Janice Hall, and her brother-in-law, Steve Hall, reflecting the close-knit family connections that were so important to her. Each of these relationships exemplified LaVerne’s warmth and unwavering support for those she loved.

LaVerne lived a life marked by service, joy, and energetic involvement in her community. She was a cherished member of Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, where she was deeply involved and found purpose in her faith and church family. Her commitment to service and engagement in the life of the church left a lasting impression on all who knew her there.

Sports were a lifelong passion for LaVerne. She distinguished herself as a talented basketball player during her high school and college years, a talent that earned the admiration of her teammates and coaches. Her love for sports extended into adulthood, where golf became a particular joy, and she took pride in recently winning a tournament—a testament to her skill and determination. Whether she was on the court or the green, LaVerne competed with a blend of grace and spirited enthusiasm.

Throughout her career, LaVerne traveled for work, embracing the adventure and camaraderie that came with life on the road. She even worked from an RV, blending her love of travel with her dedication to her profession.

All who knew LaVerne will remember her vibrant spirit, her generosity, and the lasting mark she made on her family and her community. As they mourn her passing, her family and friends celebrate the innumerable ways she enriched their lives with love, laughter, and indomitable strength
