Latrelle Houston

G. Latrelle Houston of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Dove Health Care.

She was born February 27, 1928 in Ashburn, GA to the late Larkin & Bessie Goff; she came here in 1945 from Ashburn. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and was always active in her family's activities. She was also a longtime volunteer for 'Meals on Wheels'.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Florizell Houston, Jr. in 2009. Survivors include her daughters, Gina Leddon (Paul) of Lake Wales and Dena Elmore (Doug) of Lake Wales; son, Roaul Houston (Janice) of Plant City; 6 grandchildren, Dawn McCollum (Rob), Brent Houston, Brad Houston, Daniele Shick (Jason), Matt Elmore (Kelly) and Katie Young (David); and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 and the funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Scott Markley officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cornerstone Hospice, 2590 Havendale Blvd., N.W., Winter Haven, Florida 33881.
