Larue Leverett Banes of Lake Wales passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

She was born April 2, 1938, in Luverne, Alabama to the late Homer and Odis Leverett; she moved to Lake Wales in 1988. Larue was a retired fruit grader.

Larue was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Banes in 2006; and daughter, Christine Mynatt. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Grimes and husband Wayne of Lake Wales, and Teresa Foster of Lake Wales; sisters, Betty Watts of Orlando and Sharon Foster of South Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Cemetery.
