Larry Joe Carter, 72

Larry Joe Carter of Lake Placid passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Placid.

He was born November 15, 1948 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina to the late Wiley and Martha Carter; he moved to Frostproof from Illinois in 1976, and has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past two years. Larry was a retired Blender for Ben Hill Griffin, Inc., and attended New Hope Church. He never met a stranger, loved making friends, and was a devout Christian.

Larry is survived by his son, Victor Carter; sisters, Sheila Sargent and husband Donald of Avon Park, and Linda “Lulu” Burton and husband Rick of Princton, Illinois; brothers, Gentry Carter and wife Mary of Frostproof, and Michael Carter of Frostproof; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof with Rev. Kelly Galati officiating.
