Lana Joy Jones Mcconnell

Lana Joy Jones McConnell of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at her residence.

She was born July 17, 1924 in Robertson County, KY to the late Luke W. and Kate (Burns) Jones. Married November 26, 1941 in Mt. Olivet, KY to Robert Glenn McConnell. She was a resident of Lake Wales for the past 23 years and retired from Tee Pac Corporation in Danville, IL. She was of the Methodist faith, loved animals, and was a wonderful mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, and three brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Bobbie (Moke) Anders of Kimberling City, MO, Linda (Larry) Gulley of Anchorage, AK, Gayle (Garvin) Stewart of Corbin, KY; special companion, John Howell; seven grandchildren, Tracie Collins, Jeff and David Anders, Joy-Lyn Gulley, Katie Cummins, Luke and Bobbie Stewart; four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews, and close family friends, Michele Stout and Brent Whitton.

A graveside service will be held in Kentucky at a later date. Contributions may be made in her memory to Cornerstone Hospice (1285 1st Street South, Winter Haven, FL 33880).
