Mayme Ladell Curtis, 78 Ladell Curtis of Lake Placid, Florida passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 20, 1938 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Julian R. and Mayme C. (Glover) Hughes. She has been a resident of the area since 1996 coming from Haines City. She was a cashier for Winn Dixie. She is preceded in death by her husband Roger P. Curtis, daughter Connie J. Adams, granddaughter Courtney J. Adams, sister Edres Murdock and brother Julian R. Hughes Jr. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn J. Armstrong and husband Jimmy of Lake Placid, FL, Sheila D. Harris and husband Cecil of Clewiston, FL, son Samuel E. Monaghan of West Palm, FL, 10 grandchildren Kristopher Holloway, Tara Story, Mindy Brewster, Natalie Harris, Jennifer Monaghan, Adrienne and Audra Adams, Milton “Bubba” Harris, Samantha Monaghan and Jacob Monaghan, Trey and Sara Armstrong and 18 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2017 with Funeral Service held 12:00PM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham officiating.
