Kermit James Peebles of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland.

Born September 6, 1944 in Lexy, GA; he came here from Swainsboro, GA in 1965. He was a retired superintendent from CPI Development and of the Baptist faith. He also worked for Johnson Brothers for many years, was an avid fisherman, enjoyed coon and fox hunting, was a practical joker and a loving father.

Survivors include his wife, Dani Peebles; children, Neva Mann of Lakeland, James “Jimmy” Peebles Jr. of Lake Wales, Richard Peebles of Wahiawa, HI, Thomas James Peebles of Frostproof, Jessica Shelton of Lake Wales, Christina Koulogianes of Lake Wales, Lori Richards of Milwaukee, WI, Kari Jefferies of Milwaukee, WI, Nikki Hayden of Milwaukee, WI and Jamie Mantel of Milwaukee, WI; mother, Addie Peebles of Frostproof; sisters, Bernice Brooks of Frostproof and Carrie Jefferies of Frostproof; 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
