WINTER HAVEN -- Mr. Kenneth C. Hart of Winter Haven died of respiratory failure Saturday (Feb. 11, 2006) at Tandem Healthcare in Winter Haven. He was 82.

Born Aug. 28, 1923 in New Haven, Conn., he came to Polk County from Hamden, Conn. 15 years ago. He was a staff assistant in the engineering department for South New England Telephone Company in New Haven, Conn. He served in U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and the VFW in Winter Haven. He was a pilot. He was a Protestant.

Mr. Hart is survived by his son, Dennis Hart, White Stone, Virginia; brother, Robert Hart, Madison, Conn.; sisters, Lois Bice, Lake Wales; three grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and companion Connie Miller, Winter Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 8, 300 Avenue M N.W., Winter Haven, FL 33881.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
