Katlyn C. Gilbert

Katlyn C. Gilbert "Katiebell" of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to an auto accident.

She was born April 8, 1995 in Bartow to Roland and Donna Gilbert; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a sophomore at Lake Wales Senior High School and was active in F.F.A., R.O.T.C. and her youth group at First United Methodist Church in Lake Wales. She enjoyed 4-wheeling and spending time with her family and friends; due to her love of others, she was an organ donor and someone else can benefit from her tragedy.

Survivors include her parents, Roland and Donna "Mama Gilbert" of Lake Wales; sisters, Danielle Gilbert of Lake Wales and Nicole Gilbert of Warren, RI; brothers, Pfc. Nicholas Gilbert U.S. Army stationed in Alaska, Christopher Gilbert of West Warwick, RI and Joseph Gilbert of Barrington, RI; maternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Dureault of Indian Lake Estates and Renate Ginter of Colorado Springs, CO; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Simone Budz of Winter Haven; and paternal great-grandmother, Teresa Bernier of Winter Haven.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 5:00 pm, Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Jeffrey Kantz officiating.
