Kathleen Florence Garrard, 85

Kathleen Florence Garrard of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at her residence.

She was born March 3, 1939 in Miami to the late Charles and Atchie Claxton; she moved to Lake Wales from Miami in 1990. Kathleen was a homemaker and member of Alturas Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and singing in church. Kathleen enjoyed entertaining, cooking, and doing arts and crafts. Overall else, she loved her family.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Troy Garrard; daughter, Kathy Tarbes and husband Robert of Port Saint Lucie; sons, Troy Garrard, Jr. and wife Sandra of Winter Haven, and Eric Garrard of Winter Haven; sister, Betty Wilson of Summerfield; 8 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Kenneth Slay officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Buffum Baptist Church Cemetery in Fort Meade.
