LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Kathie Bonneman of Lake Wales died of cancer Wednesday (Sept. 13, 2006) at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was 64.

Born in Melbourne on Sept. 7, 1942, she came to Lakeland in 1945, moving to Lake Wales in 1977. She was a social worker for the state of Florida for 23 years. She graduated from Florida Southern College.

Mrs. Bonneman is survived by her husband, Frederick W. Bonneman II; mother, Helen G. MacDowell, Lakeland; stepdaughters, Jennifer Hickman, Lake Wales, Janet Bronner, St. Augustine; stepson, Frederick W. Bonneman III; sisters, Sheila Crum, Plant City, Julie Jackson, Auburndale; brother, Louis G. MacDowell III, Satellite Beach; seven step-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 23 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy Lake Wales Ridge Program in Babson Park, or Watson Clinic Center for Cancer Care in Lakeland.
