Julia Effie McMullen of Lake Wales passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Winter Haven due to heart failure.

Born January 15, 1927 in Adel, GA to the late Lessie & Mary Nan Lasseter; she was a homemaker, past employee of Wee Care Daycare and packed fruit for Hunt Brothers. She was also a member of the Revival Tabernacle.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McMullen in 1964. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Chambers (Ronnie) of Lake Wales and Susie Goff (Lamar) of Frostproof; sons, Charles McMullen of Lake Wales and John McMullen Sr. (Vickie) of Lake Wales; brother, Noma Lasseter of Lakeland; sisters, Bess Massey of Wildwood, Stella Hall of Lake Wales and Betty Shields of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Leasa, Christie, Tish, JohnWesley, Nikki and Karen and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. Emory Wine and Rev. A.J. Steverson officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be sent to the Revival Tabernacle.
