Judy Lavender Gilbreath

March 26, 1946 — September 22, 2013

Judy Lavender Gilbreath 67, of Babson Park, FL passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

She was born March 26, 1946 in Sanford, Florida to the late Curtis and Lyde Lavender. Judy graduated in 1964 from Sanford High School and from Jones Business College of Orlando, FL in a degree in computer programing in 1966. She has been a resident of Babson Park, FL since August of 2010 moving here from Kissimmee, Florida where she had been a resident for 29 years. During her career she was a Production Control Planner for various Aero Space companies, General Dynamics, N.C.R., Harris Corp and PTI Manufacturing Co. Production Control Manager. She retired in 1998 due to illness. Judy loved cooking; she was a computer “Guru”, loved to read, dance, animals and her family and friends. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Gilbreath of 35 years; son, Arthur R. Van Wart of Orlando; brother, Randal Douglas and wife Fran Lavender of Ft. Worth, TX; grandson, Adam Wood Van Wart; 2 nephews and 3 nieces; sister and brother in law, Janyce and Bennie Cruze; nephew, Ray and Dawn Cruze; great nephew, Dalton Cruze. Judy was a devoted wife , grandmother and was loved by all her family and friends.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales with Dr. Scott Markley officiating.
