Judy Gail Claxton

Judy Claxton of Lake Wales passed away March 19, 2022

She was born in Orlando, Florida, February 8, 1952, to the late R.L Lawrence and Ethel Finch.

Judy was the biggest animal lover you would ever know she loved riding her horses when she was young and barrel racing. She was a veterinarian technician of Lake Wales veterinary Hospital for many years where she brought numerous animals home. One of her nicknames as a kid was Elle Mae so it wasn’t a shock to anyone that she’d bring home anything she could get her hands on. She was a big Gator fan and loved booing the Seminoles any chance she had.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Claxton in March of 2017. She is survived by her son, Eric Claxton; granddaughters, Paige Claxton, Camryn Claxton, and Grace Wine by choice; and sisters, Pat and Mary.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2022 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham officiating.
