Jude Monk

Jude Monk of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his residence.

He was born December 21, 1938 in Skipperville, AL to the late Leroy & Vera (Johnson) Monk; he came here from Alabama 52 years ago. He was the owner/operator of Monk's Garage in Frostproof and was of the Baptist faith.

Jude was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Curtis Monk. Survivors include his wife, Debbra Monk; daughter, Deborah A. Land (James) of Frostproof; sons, Stacey L. Monk (Shannon) of Babson Park, Michael J. Monk (Delana) of Frostproof and Stephen P. Monk (Hillary) of Frostproof; sister, Retha Horsley (Dean) of Cottonwood, AL, Viola Pitts (Eudon) of Dothan, AL, Martha Solis (Joe) of Auburndale and Wanda Ruffin of Montgomery, AL; brother, Marvette Monk of Frostproof; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
