Juanita Swinson Batson, 71, of Lake Wales passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born December 4, 1936 in Dublin, GA; she came here as a child and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a sales associate and a member of the Westside Baptist Church. She graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1954 and was very active in church as a secretary and music minister. She married Morris Eugene Batson in 1959 and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Juanita was preceded by her husband, Morris Eugene Batson, son, Douglas Alan Batson, and father, William Manen Swinson. Survivors include her daughter, Lori Anne Batson-Habib of The Sultinat of Oman; son, Craig Eugene Batson of Covington, TN; mother, Adlene Swinson of Lake Wales; brothers, William Bill Swinson Jr. of Philadelphia, MS and Tony Swinson of Tallahassee; and 7 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
