Joyce Elizabeth Hart was born on December 3, 1931, in Austin, Texas, and she passed away on June 9, 2026, at Oasis at Lake Wales.
Joyce dedicated much of her time to being a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for others with kindness and compassion. Joyce found joy in simple pleasures. She liked watching John Wayne movies, Gunsmoke, and Andy Griffith. Family was very important to her, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as the spiritual leader of her family, gospel music and reading the Bible were central parts of her life from beginning to end.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hart; son, Timothy Hart; parents, Anthony and Letha Townsend; son-in-law, Ed McMillan; seven sisters; and one brother. She is remembered by her daughters Connie and her husband John of Kansas, and Alesia McMillan of Lake Wales; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hart of Missouri; grandchildren, Dakota, Desiree, Jason, Jennifer, Brad and his wife Mandy, Leah, Cole and his wife Chelle, and Cade; and great-grandchildren Easton, Morgyn, Lauren, Grant, Bradlee, Brooks, and Beckett.
A memorial service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
