Joyce Brinkworth

Joyce Brinkworth of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, January 04, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born August 15, 1931 in Lake Wales to the late Ernest O. & Mabel H. Brinkworth; and she has been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a graduate of Lake Wales Senior High School in 1949 and retired from Florida Power after 33 years in 1988 as a distribution engineering clerk III. She was of the Protestant faith, attended the First Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sisters, Virginia Brinkworth of Lake Wales and Betty Pendleton of Lake Wales; brothers, Richard Brinkworth of Jacksonville and Jim Brinkworth of Babson Park.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Chad Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
